Virtual Instruction to Continue Thru February

The Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 status of each county in which our students live. As you probably are aware, the rate of COVID-19 positive cases in Kentucky has been increasing, which increases the danger of the spread of the disease to others.

KSB plans to continue virtual instruction through the end of February. At that time, we will re-evaluate to determine if we can reopen the school or if we will need to continue with virtual instruction. Small group instruction for KSB students that is occurring on campus and in school districts across the state will continue as scheduled.

While we continue to hold classes online, it is important that we work together to ensure students are participating in their virtual classes according to their schedule. Participation in daily class work is vital to ensure students are receiving continuous education. Even one missed day can mean a student is not aware of new work assignments and is missing out on the teacher’s explanation of how to complete their work. You are truly appreciated in all that you do to support your child during this difficult time.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy holiday season. I hope the new year brings peace and joy to your home.

Best regards,

Peggy Sinclair-Morris, Principal
