November 7 2025  Weekly Recap: We had a fun-filled week in the dorm! Elementary Students enjoyed an off-campus trip to Dairy Queen, where everyone got to enjoy burgers & Blizzards. It was the perfect way to celebrate their hard work and enjoy a little fall fun together. In addition, Cub Scouts was introduced to our elementary students this week! Families will soon receive an email with more information about how to sign up and provide approval for participation. On Wednesday, our older Scouts worked on navigation and directional skills. Students practiced using a compass and explored the KSB campus, identifying key buildings and landmarks

October 31 2025 Weekly Recap: This week Students decorated the gym for our Halloween Dance, attended, “Boo at the Zoo” and toured Crescent Hill (Halloween Street) to see the festive displays. The dance was a huge success with music, games, and plenty of treats! Special thanks to our volunteers, the East End Lions Club, KSB Alumni, & for everyone that donated for making it all possible. Reminders, No school next Monday. Dorm students return Monday, Nov. 3 after 4:00 PM. Classes resume Tuesday, Nov. 4. Exciting News, Bowling Alley Renovation We’re thrilled to announce that remodeling of our on-campus bowling alley has begun!

September 12 2025. Weekly Recap: This week, our elementary students enjoyed a fun trip to Simpsonville Park and Culver’s. The original safari outing was changed due to scheduling, but the kids adjusted well and had a great time! Later in the week, middle and high school students visited St. Matthews Mall, where they practiced O&M, budgeting, and shopping skills. Best of luck to our track team competing in Missouri this weekend! Reminders: Dorm families, if you are still not connected to our Dorm app “Seesaw”. Double check your emails this weekend. It’s a great way for us to stay connected!

Dorm Closed for Fall Break 09/28/25-10/03/25. Trips & Events Next Week: Therapy Dogs visit in the Dorm, Scout Meeting with Mr. Ottis, Bowling Outing.

September 5 2025 Labor day cookout: We kicked off the week with a packed cookout—burgers, snacks, and no leftovers! First Scout Meeting: Our first Scout meeting covered upcoming outings, merit badge plans (biking, camping, safety), and ideas for holiday service projects. Bowling Night: Students had a blast bowling at Ten Pin all high school students joined in for fun, pizza, and soft drinks! Reminders: Please send in a light jacket next week we are starting to have more chilly & rainy mornings. Trips next week: Elementary Group: Little Crooked Creek Safari. High School Group: St. Mathews Mall.

August 29. Weekly overview: This week, our high school group enjoyed an outing to Louisville Bats baseball game, where they cheered for their favorite team and indulged in classic ballpark snacks like hot dogs and popcorn. Meanwhile, our elementary group had a fun trip to Chick-fil-A, enjoying delicious chicken sandwiches and played games in the restaurant's play area. Both groups returned with smiles and stories to share about their exciting day.

Coming Up: We have a lot of exciting trips coming up next month. Bowling, Gallrein Farm, St. Matthews Mall, and so much more!

Reminders: No School Monday, Dorm opens Monday, September 1st.

August 22 This Week, Recreation: Students took a trip to the Kentucky State Fair this week! They had a fantastic time exploring all the exciting exhibits and attractions. From the hands on interaction with the farm animals, to the tasty food there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it was a memorable experience!

Reminders, New Parent Communication App: Please check your students dorm folder for instructions on how to connect to the app “Seesaw” we will be utilizing for communication moving forward. Label Everything: Don’t forget to label your child’s belongings (backpacks, clothing, luggage) to avoid mix-ups.

Off Campus Trips: Next Wednesday our Elementary Dorm will be taking a trip to eat dinner & play in the indoor play place at Chick-fil-A & High School Students will be attending the Louisville Bats games on Thursday. *All funded by KSB. Important dates, Monday September 1st (Labor Day)- Dorm will be closed Sunday August 31st.

AUGUST 15 Welcome back to dorm life: Hello from the staff in the Residential Program, Welcome back! As the new school year begins, we’re thrilled to welcome your student—and you—to our residential community.

This Week’s Highlights: Students enjoyed a fantastic first week back at their home away from home. Our week featured several exciting activities, including: The Back to School Cookout organized by the Lion’s Club, an off-campus trip to Walmart, allowing students to shop for items for their bedrooms, and engaging in outdoor group-based yard games. It was a wonderful way to kick off the semester!
What’s Coming Up?: Be on the lookout for a folder labeled “Dorm” in your students backpack. We will be utilizing this to send home important forms this school year. Please utilize this to send in notes for anything you’d like dorm staff to know we will be checking them each week upon your student’s arrival.

Thank You!: We want to extend our gratitude for your unwavering support and trust in our staff here in the dorm. Your commitment to your children's education and well-being is truly inspiring and plays an integral role in their growth and success. The partnership we have with you is invaluable.
